CIMTEC announces appointment of Justin Leushner as CEO

Brings deep experience in medtech commercialization

LONDON (August 8, 2017) – The Centre for Imaging Technology Commercialization (CIMTEC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Justin Leushner as Chief Executive Officer, effective today. Mr. Leushner will provide strategic direction to CIMTEC in achieving its vision of being recognized as the global expert in accelerating medical imaging and imaging-related commercialization.

Mr. Leushner brings to CIMTEC extensive experience as an entrepreneur with start-up companies in medical devices, diagnostics, and therapeutics. He was responsible for developing a national molecular diagnostics program for MDS Inc., Canada's largest life sciences company, and served as a business analyst and portfolio advisor to the Canadian Medical Discoveries Fund. In 2004, Mr. Leushner co-founded Sernova Corp., which is now traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange. He developed an Islet Transplant Program for the London Health Sciences Centre and served as a Director for Health Care Restructuring. Most recently Mr. Leushner was Vice President at TechAlliance of South Western Ontario, where he managed a team of advisors, analysts and Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, working with more than 300 companies. An MBA graduate of Western University’s Ivey School of Business, Mr. Leushner also holds a B.Sc. in Cell Physiology/Genetics from the University of British Columbia and numerous technical designations in Forensic Science and Molecular Biology.
